Beach House and their newest album Once Twice Melody
Beach House is a musical duo consisting of a vocalist, keyboardist Victoria Legrand and guitarist Alex Scally. From their debut 2006 self-titled album, to their newest 2022 album titled Once Twice Melody, every single one of the band's songs is otherworldly experience, taking the listener into a deep dive of incredibly acoustically appealing, mesmerizing, almost hypnotic sounds, which assist divine lyrics in Legrand's beautiful and striking performance that can rival those of the most famous poets.
The Beach
House relies heavily on metaphor and symbolism in their works. While
there are definitely more and less sensible interpretations, what they
precisely mean is up to the interpreter. They will mean something else
to each individual that listens and each of them can get a completely different interpretation and view on it every time. Some of the symbols require a lot of thought to decipher. Some of them require getting acquainted with other songs. Some of them require a deeper dive into one's heart.
Of
course, each song has got its own message and theme, but their main
ones are to be empathetic, love, not fear anything, make sacrifices of
one's own comfort when it is necessary for the greater good and bring
the most light into the world, ultimately even to oneself.
It
is a journey, in my opinion at any moment of it is absolutely worth to
be taken. I think any person that has ever lived and dealt with a woe
can find at the very least one Beach House song and interpretation that
can help them deal with said woe and rise above it.
